Controlled handover
Agree collection contacts, access, equipment scope and handling responsibilities before arrival.
City of London IT recycling
LCR Charity supports City offices, facilities teams and organisations that need a controlled route for redundant computers, monitors, servers and peripherals. Collections can include agreed chain-of-custody records, asset reporting and data erasure evidence, with reusable equipment prioritised for social impact.

Secure collection planning
Site access, asset records and requested outcomes agreed before collection.
Collection assurance
Agree collection contacts, access, equipment scope and handling responsibilities before arrival.
Request quantities, serial information and recorded outcomes at the level your team needs.
Specify which data-bearing assets require erasure records or another agreed treatment route.
Suitable equipment can be refurbished for community reuse instead of being discarded prematurely.
Who this service supports
The service is designed for organisations where a collection must work around building operations, internal governance and commercial deadlines.
Governance and evidence
Disposing of business technology is not only a transport task. The organisation remains responsible for deciding how devices, stored information and disposal records should be handled.
LCR starts by agreeing the asset scope, site controls, data-bearing equipment and evidence required. This gives facilities, IT, procurement and information-governance teams a clearer handover record.
Collection process
Send device types, quantities, locations, deadline and the required reporting level.
Confirm loading, parking, security, lift, floor and collection-window requirements.
Complete the handover against the agreed equipment and collection contacts.
Handle data-bearing assets, prioritise suitable reuse and provide the agreed records.
Social value through reuse
When donated business devices remain useful, refurbishment can extend their working life and help LCR Charity support people and organisations facing digital exclusion. The reporting conversation can include the social-value information your ESG or procurement team needs, without making unsupported impact claims.
Commercial collection enquiry
Share the equipment, location, deadline and reporting needs. LCR Charity will review the collection requirements and respond with a practical route for secure handling, reuse and responsible recycling.
Tell us if serial-level asset reporting or data erasure evidence is required.
Include loading, security-desk, lift, parking or multi-site access requirements.
Reusable devices can support LCR Charity’s digital inclusion work.
Questions before collection
Yes. Share the building address, floor, loading arrangements, security-desk process, available lifts, collection window and equipment volume so the team can assess the route before confirming collection.
LCR can review equipment generated by relocations, fit-outs, closures and device refreshes. Early notice helps with access planning, volume assessment and the reporting scope.
The agreed report can include device categories, quantities, available serial numbers and recorded outcomes. Confirm the required level of detail before collection so it can be built into the handling plan.
Data erasure evidence can be requested for suitable data-bearing assets. Tell LCR which devices and documentation your information-governance team requires when requesting a quote.
Where equipment is suitable and data has been handled appropriately, LCR prioritises refurbishment and reuse. This can create community benefit while extending the useful life of donated technology.
