Trust-level planning
Coordinate contacts, access, volumes and deadlines across one school or several academy sites.
Academy and school IT recycling
LCR Charity helps education estates plan accountable collections of retired computers, monitors, servers and peripherals. Trust and school teams can agree multi-site logistics, asset reporting, data erasure evidence and reuse outcomes before equipment leaves the premises.

Secure collection planning
Site access, asset records and requested outcomes agreed before collection.
Collection assurance
Coordinate contacts, access, volumes and deadlines across one school or several academy sites.
Agree how quantities, serials and outcomes should map back to your internal records.
Identify data-bearing devices and request the evidence your data-protection process requires.
Prioritise suitable reuse and connect retired technology with wider digital inclusion goals.
Who this service supports
The service supports operational and governance teams that need a clear plan from classroom or server room to documented outcome.
Governance and evidence
Education devices can contain pupil, staff and operational information. Schools and trusts need to identify data-bearing assets, decide the required treatment and retain suitable evidence for their own accountability.
LCR works from an agreed collection scope. Multi-site contacts, access windows, asset information and requested documentation are set before collection so the handover is easier for IT, estates and school leadership teams to manage.
Collection process
Share each school, equipment categories, quantities, contacts and collection deadline.
Identify data-bearing equipment, asset-register fields and required evidence.
Plan arrival, safeguarding-aware access, loading and handover around the school day.
Process assets through the agreed route and provide the requested collection records.
Social value through reuse
Equipment that remains suitable can be securely refurbished and reused, helping extend its useful life and supporting access to technology. LCR can discuss the factual reporting your trust needs for social-value, sustainability or community-benefit records.
Commercial collection enquiry
Share the equipment, location, deadline and reporting needs. LCR Charity will review the collection requirements and respond with a practical route for secure handling, reuse and responsible recycling.
Tell us if serial-level asset reporting or data erasure evidence is required.
Include loading, security-desk, lift, parking or multi-site access requirements.
Reusable devices can support LCR Charity’s digital inclusion work.
Questions before collection
Yes. Provide each site, the local contact, equipment volume, access times and reporting requirements. LCR can then assess whether a phased or coordinated multi-site collection is suitable.
Collections can be assessed for laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, network equipment, printers and common peripherals. Include condition, quantities and any data-bearing devices in the initial asset list.
An agreed report can record device categories, quantities, available serial numbers and processing outcomes. Share the trust’s asset-register and evidence requirements before collection.
The school or trust should identify devices that may hold personal or operational data and state the required treatment. LCR can then agree the handling and evidence route for suitable assets before pickup.
Suitable equipment can be prioritised for refurbishment and community reuse after appropriate data handling. This can extend device life and support LCR Charity’s digital inclusion work.
